Management

SF

Sven Frostbjorn

Founder & Lead Technician

Sven founded North Pole Heating & Cooling in 2011 after his own igloo's furnace failed during a -62°C blizzard. That night he swore no resident of the Arctic Circle would ever shiver without help again. He holds 14 HVAC certifications, including the rare "Sub-Zero Master" rating, and once repaired a boiler during a polar bear encounter without dropping his wrench. Off-duty, Sven coaches the North Pole Snowmobile Racing League and maintains an impressive collection of vintage thermostats.

KI

Kirsten Icewell

Operations Manager

Kirsten keeps the entire operation running with the precision of a Swiss chronometer frozen in permafrost. She coordinates all dispatch routes, manages the dog sled logistics fleet, and maintains the company's legendary 22-minute average response time. Before joining North Pole HVAC, she managed supply chains for three Antarctic research stations and once scheduled an emergency furnace install during a 48-hour polar night without a single scheduling conflict. Her spreadsheets are rumoured to be sentient.

Service Technicians

JM

Jake Morrison

Senior HVAC Technician

Jake is our most seasoned field technician, with over 4,000 service calls completed in conditions that would make a penguin reconsider its life choices. He specializes in industrial furnace systems and holds the company record for fastest emergency repair: 9 minutes flat, including snowmobile travel time. Jake claims he can diagnose a failing compressor by sound alone from 50 metres away, and frankly, nobody has been able to prove him wrong. His tool belt weighs more than most carry-on luggage.

ES

Erik Snowdrift

HVAC Technician

Erik joined the team after spending five years as a heating engineer on an icebreaker ship in the Barents Sea. He brings an unrivalled understanding of how metal behaves at -50°C and an encyclopedic knowledge of thermal expansion coefficients. Erik is our go-to specialist for permafrost foundation heating systems, and he designed the custom IgloSeal vapour barrier that has become one of our most popular services. He communicates primarily in grunts during service calls but writes exceptionally detailed technical reports.

OW

Olaf Winterbourne

HVAC Technician

Olaf handles our residential installations and is beloved by customers across the North Pole region for his cheerful disposition and habit of leaving freshly baked cinnamon rolls on the counter after completing a job. He previously worked as a reindeer stable climate control specialist, giving him unique insight into large-space heating for both human and animal comfort. His signature move is the "Winterbourne Warranty Walkaround" — a 47-point inspection that has prevented countless mid-blizzard breakdowns.

Administration

TP

Tina Permafrost

Accounts & Administration

Tina manages all invoicing, payroll, and vendor relationships with an iron grip that would make a glacier jealous. She implemented our paperless billing system in 2019, which was a significant achievement considering the nearest reliable internet connection is 400 km south. Tina once tracked down a missing invoice across three time zones during a communications blackout caused by an aurora borealis event. Her filing system is so precise that she can locate any document from the past decade in under 30 seconds. She does not accept late payments. Ever.

LF

Lars Fjelstad

Scheduling Coordinator

Lars is the master of the dispatch board. He juggles service appointments, emergency calls, and preventive maintenance schedules across the entire North Pole service area with the calm demeanour of someone who has accepted that nothing will ever go according to plan at -40°C. He coordinates with the dog sled teams, snowmobile fleet, and the emergency helicopter pilot (who goes by "Ice Pick" and refuses to fly below -55°C). Lars has a photographic memory for customer addresses, which is helpful because half of them are just "the blue igloo near the frozen lake."

Apprentices & Trainees

YB

Yuki Blizzard

Apprentice Technician

Yuki is our newest team member and the first graduate of the North Pole Polytechnic's inaugural HVAC programme (class of 2025, sole graduate, class valedictorian by default). Despite being new to the field, Yuki has already shown remarkable aptitude for diagnosing heat pump failures and has earned the nickname "The Defrost Kid" for an uncanny ability to thaw frozen condensate lines. Currently shadowing Jake on emergency calls and learning the sacred art of snowmobile-based furnace repair. Yuki's long-term goal is to develop a geothermal heating system powered entirely by volcanic vents beneath the ice cap. We admire the ambition.
